PITIRRE Comprehensive Substance Treatment and Rehabilitation Program
PITIRRE is a clinic that offers physical and mental health services to persons 18 years of age or older who are active substance users or are persons affected by the addiction of a relative. This comprehensive care and treatment program serves over 500 persons annually from all over the island. Since 2012, PITIRRE has greatly expanded the scope of its services and currently includes:
- Initial evaluation
- Nursing services
- Medication-assisted treatment with Buprenorphine
- Ulcer specialized clinic
- Physical health services for the management of secondary health issues other than substance use
- Case management
- Social work
- Substance abuse counseling
- Clinical psychology
- Psychiatry (evaluation, psychopharmacological treatment and follow up)
- Occupational therapy
- Chaplaincy
- Health education
- Alternative medicine (acupuncture, naturopathy and body massage)
- Peer mentoring and accompaniment services
- Doctor consultations on pharmacologic treatment adherence in pharmacies
- Lab tests
- Rapid HIV tests
- Individual psychotherapy
- Group psychotherapy
- Couple psychotherapy
- Family psychotherapy
- Multi-Family therapy
- Psychopharmacological management
- Limited transportation
- Psycho-educational workshops
- Prevention orientations on harm reduction
- Support groups
Program requirements are:
- Be 18 years old or older
- Have a drug addiction history or be an active drug user
- Person presenting a clinical profile of physical health secondary to substance abuse
- Family member or support system struggling with the effects of a loved one’s drug addiction
